Welcome to StagNode! πŸš€

My name is David Crilly, and I have a confession: I cannot leave well enough alone.

My foundational philosophy in life is “How does that work?” Whether it is a piece of software, a smart home protocol, or a kitchen wall, my immediate instinct is to tear it down, figure it out, and re-engineer it to be better.

🦌 What is a “StagNode”?

The name is a mix of family insight and tech obsession. My wife and daughter determined that my spirit animal is a stag. Around the same time, I was knee-deep in setting up Kubernetes nodes. An AI connected the dots, and StagNode was born.

🌌 Biomechanical Networking (Yes, Farscape)

If you are a sci-fi fan, you will appreciate my infrastructure layout. My home lab is a living, breathing tech ecosystem managed cleanly via ArgoCD and GitOps:

  • Pilot: A massive tower server pushing 90TB of TrueNAS storageβ€”the essential backbone holding my entire digital life, media, and personal cloud together.
  • Moya: My main production cluster (3 mini PCs + 2 desktops) that handles daily operations and hosts my private AI.
  • Talyn: My development cluster (3 mini PCs) where I test new ideas and deliberately break things safely.

πŸ› οΈ Off the Grid

When my eyes need a break from screen glare and Kubernetes YAML, I transfer my re-engineering energy into the physical world. I am constantly remodeling our house, fixing things around the property, and spending time with my family.

Thanks for stopping by my corner of the internet. Stick around for deep dives into tech, home labs, and the occasional AI experiment!
